Bill Altmann & Ron Gee Receive 60 Year & 50 Year Cerificates

The October 2011 meeting of Salopian Lodge of Charity 117 was marked by a very special ‘double’ as Masons from all around the Province gathered in the presence of PrGM Peter Taylor to see W Bro Bill Altmann receive a 60 year certificate and W Bro Ron Gee a 50 year certificate. The Provincial Grand Master spoke extensively and without notes about each Brother, paying tribute to W Bro Bill’s devotion to the lodge, his wife Audrey and his native country of Scotland. Bill’s 50 year certificate had been presented to him 10 years ago by the then Deputy, one James McAllister Hodgson, who was also in attendance. RWBro Taylor also detailed some of W Bro Ron’s achievements as a rugby enthusiast and talented discus thrower as well as the many Masonic accomplishments with which we are perhaps more familiar. The Provincial Grand Master referred to Ron as one of the mainstays of the Province over many years.
